Summer Collection

KAFA Dükkan is the lifestyle offshoot of KAFA Dergisi, Turkey's most-read magazine since 2014. What started as an archive shop for back issues has grown into an independent brand where literature, art and design collide, telling stories rather than just selling products.

For the summer collection, I designed a series of bathrobes and towels built around the idea of "sayfiye." There's no exact English word for it: it's the old Turkish tradition of packing up city life and moving to a coastal house for the summer, slow mornings, plastic garden chairs, watermelon and cheese on the table, a game of tavla under the shade. It's a whole mood, equal parts nostalgic and lazy.

I pulled visual language straight from that world: the plastic chair, the watermelon slice, the cheese plate, the backgammon board, rendering them in KAFA's cool, warm and slightly cheeky voice, made for a community that treats summer as a state of mind.
